Castella (Hispanice: Castilla) est regio Hispaniae, sita inter Cantabriam et Saltus Castulonensis (fere planitia centralis Hispanica).



Historia |


Origo Castellae est in vallibus montium Cantabricorum. Nomen Castellae deflexit ex castellis (praesidiis) qui in hac regione aedificabantur, et surgit anno 800 cum manuscripto quod dixit in Bardulia quae nunc vocatur Castella. Castellam primo Vascones et Cantabri incolebant.


Gentes Castellae transiverunt montes et vallem Durii incolaverunt itaque surgit comitatum Castellae. Haec regio appellata Castella Vetus est. Castella Nova est regio Toleti, ultra montibus Carpetanis.
