Ballade des dames du temps jadis, scilicet "Cantilena mulierum temporis praeteriti", est carmen quod Testamento poëtico Francisci Villon, anno 1461 composito, continetur, sed sub solo titulo "Ballade". Titulum longiorem primus Clemens Marot imposuit in editione carminum Francisci Villon quam anno 1533 divulgavit. Temporibus nostris hanc cantilenam Georgius Brassens cantitavit.

Versus intercalaris "Mais où sont les neiges d'antan?" saepe a posterioribus repetitur, Latine scilicet "At ubi sunt nives anni anterioris?":

  • Anglice ex interpretatione Dante Gabrielis Rossetti, titulo "The Ballad of Dead Ladies". Ibi versus intercalaris sonat "Where are the snows of yesteryear?"; quo versu Rossetti verbum Anglicum yesteryear primus ille finxerit. Huic locutioni modo satyrico allusit Iosephus Heller, in cuius mythistoria Catch-22 Yossarian de amico Snowden nuper mortuo postulat: "Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear? ... Où sont les Neigedens d'antan?"

  • Theodisce in verbis Bertoldi Brecht "Wo ist der Schnee vom vergangenen Jahr?" e carmine Bertoldi Brecht et Curtii Weill cuius titulus est "Nannas Lied".
