Ămōsis -is (seu -ēs, -is), aut Ămāsis -is (Aegyptie Ỉˁḥ-ms)[1] est nomen Aegyptium satis frequens "de Luna (vel Luno) natus" significans.


Causa dialectorum Aegyptiarum, idem nomen potest aut cum o aut cum a scribi. Sed in scriptis doctorum modernorum, duae formae paene quasi essent nomina distincta decernuntur—nam Amasis cum a paene numquam adhibetur nisi pro pharaone Amose II, qui annis 570—526 a.C.n. regnait.
