Verticillum in botanice est ordinatio sepalorum, petalorum, foliorum, stipularum, vel ramorum qui, ex uno puncto radiantes, caulem circumdant vel se circum caulem involvunt.[1][2]


Verticillum in saltem tres elementis consisit; par foliorum oppositorum verticillum non est.
Morphologia plurimorum florum angiospermarum in quattuor generibus verticillorum consistit.



  1. Calyx: verticillum sepalorum in basi.


  2. Corolla: verticillum petalorum super calycem.


  3. Androecium: verticillum staminum, quorum quidque ex filo et anthera constat.


  4. Gynoecium: verticillum partium feminarum floris, quae stigma, stylus, ovarium sunt.

Flos qui ullis harum structurarum floralium caret imperfectus habetur.[3] Non omnes flores in verticillis consistunt cum partes potius spiratim ordinantur, ut in Magnolicaeis.


Folia in verticillis crescentia sunt aliquando insolita, nisi quod in speciebus plantarum quibus sunt brevissima internodia. Fit autem in nonnullis arboribis, sicut Brabejum stellatifolium, et in aliis Proteaceis, sicut nonnullae species generis Banksiae. In exemplis monstratis, internodia conferta intra verticilla cum longis internodiis inter verticilla alternant.
