Monologus (Graece μονόλογος > μόνος 'solus' + λόγος lógos 'oratio') in theatro est oratio ab una persona habita, saepissime ad eius cogitationes clare dicendas, sed aliquando etiam ad aliam personam aut spectatores alloquendos. Monologi quotidiani sunt in variis mediis dramaticis (praecipue ludis et pelliculis[1]), ut in mediis non dramaticis, sicut poesis.[2] Monologi multum cum aliis apparatibus litterariis communicant, inter quae soliloquia, apostrophae, et evocationes; sunt autem variationes inter omnes tales apparatus.
