Chronovisor[1] (Latine fortasse "chronovistrum" sive "chronovisorium" sive etiam "chronoscopium" (Italice: cronovisore; Anglice: chronovisor; Francogallice: chronoviseur) est instrumentum quod dicitur inventum esse a monacho benedictino italiano Peregrino Ernetti.


Ille monachus, non solum musicologus erat sed etiam eximie peritus in rebus physicis. Ita, post multas et perspicuas inquisitiones in suo laboratorio effectas in insula quadam urbis Venetiarum, dixit se invenisse et fabricavisse instrumentum electricum quo potuisset audire voces hominum mortuorum iam ante plura saecula et eorum imagines videre. Huic instrumento nomen dedit chronovistri.


Hoc chronovistro, si ei credere possumus, affirmavit se potuisse audivisse tragoediam deperditam Ennii, quae erat Thyestes, et ipsum Ciceronem in Senatu loquentem auscultavisse.


Sed nunc, proh dolor, ut scriptum est in nonnullis actis diurnis, id instrumentum mirum latet celatum in cella quadam Vaticana...
