Carolus Morton (Charles Morton; natus anno 1716 in comitatu Westmorelandia; mortuus 1799) fuit alumnus Academiae Lugduno-Batavae ub gradum doctoratus medicinae anno 1748 meruit. Officium medici implevit apud Kendal et postea Londinii, ubi ab anno 1754 medicus Brephotrophei meruit. Fuit socius ab anno 1752 Regalis Societatis Londiniensis et secretarius huius societatis ab anno 1760 1774 usque; symbolas edidit in actis societatis de causis motus muscularis voluntarii (1751) et de cognatione scripturae Sinicae cum litteris hieroglyphicis (1768). Fuit sub-bibliothecarius Musei Britannici ab anno 1759; Matheo Maty mortuo, fuit bibliothecarius principalis ab anno 1776 usque ad mortem. Labores eius in opere A catalogue of the Harleian manuscripts in the British Museum, annis 1808-1812 divulgato, videntur.
