Alexius Comnenus (Graece Ἀλέξιος Κομνηνός; natus anno fere 1182; mortuus die 1 Februarii 1222) fuit nobilis Byzantinus e familia Comnenorum.Fuit filius Manuelis Comneni quem e Rusudan (filiam Georgii III regis Georgiae) genuit. Adiuvante avuncula Thamar, Alexius una cum fratre Davide) anno 1204 (Constantinopoli a militibus quartae expeditionis sacrae obsessa) urbem Trapezuntem cepit regionemque Ponticam debellavit. Fuit igitur conditor imperii Trapezuntini. Alexius in matrimonium duxisse creditur filiam Ioannis Comneni "Crassi" et ex ea genuisse:


  • filia (praenomine ignoto), Andronici I imperatoris uxor


  • Ioannes, imperator futurus


  • Manuel, imperator futurus

Alexio anno 1222 mortuo, filiis masculis etiam iuvenibus, gener Andronicus imperium suscepit.
