Praeter Al-Fatiha capitulum habet 25 alia epitheta.[2] Caput complectitur 7 versus. Inter versibus suis sunt 4 preces, et 3 laudationes.


Nonnullis inscriptionibus Islamicis prex hunc capitulum dicendi inclusa est.[3]

1. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ


In nomine Dei Misericordis Miseratoris.

2. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ


Laus Deo Domino mundorum,

3. الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ


Misericordi Miseratori,

4. مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ


Regi diei iudicii.

5. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ


Te colimus et a Te adiuvamur.

6. اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ


Ostende nobis viam rectam,

7. [4]صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ


Viam illorum quibus gratiam dedisti, non quibus iratus es, nec errantium.
