Habitatio luporum

Lupus (binomen Canis lupus a Linnaeo anno 1758 statutum) est carnivorum familiae Canidarum et progenitor canum domesticorum.


Olim lupi per totum orbem terrarum aderant; nunc solum in America Septentrionali, Eurasia, et Oriente Medio adsunt. In silvis tundraicis, tescis arcticis, silva boreali, planis, et montibus habitant.


Lupi sunt longi circa 100-150 centimetra, quorum triens cauda est. Pondus ab 25 usque ad 60 chiliogrammata est; mares maiores sunt feminis. Corpus cursibus longis aptum est, thorace tenui et musculis fortibus dorsi crurisque.
