praenomencognomenPlinius SecundusScipio Africanus prior natusCaesarumutero




Caeso, sive Kaeso, fuit praenomen virile Romanum, littera K. notatum, iam tempore classico obsoletum, primum fortasse cognomen cum adiective caesio coniunctum, quod glaucum colorem oculorum vultusve significabat.[1]


Aliter autem a scriptoribus antiquis explicatur. Sic scribit Plinius Secundus: "sicut Scipio Africanus prior natus primusque Caesarum a caeso matris utero dictus, qua de causa et Caesones appellati."[2]
