Ioannes Cinnamus (Graece Ἰωάννης Κίνναμος) fuit rerum gestarum scriptor Byzantinus; "grammaticus" imperatori Manueli Comneno meruit. Natus est, sicut ipse confitetur, post mortem imperatoris Ioannis II (qui anno 1143 obiit).[1] Puer iuxta Manuelem obsidioni Zeugmini anno 1165 adfuit, [2] postea et proelio apud Myriocephalum anno 1176.[3] Mortuum esse censetur post annum 1185.
