Cassianus Bassus est scriptor Graecus saec. 6 p. C. n. Conscripsit Ecloga de re rustica sive de agricultura, duodecim libris divisa, ubi multa sumpsit e libro antiquiore a Vindonio Anatolio scripto. Operis Cassiani Bassi nunc deperditi tria indicia habemus:


  • Fons principalis erat operis saec. 10 cui titulus est Geoponica, imperatori Constantino Porphyrogenito dicati

  • Opus Cassiani Bassi "in duodecim libris" lectus est breviterque recensus a Photio[1]

  • Translatio in lingua Persica mediaevali (Pahlavi) facta est saec. 6 vel 7; de ea duae translationes Arabicae facta sunt saeculis 8 et 9
