Aceraceae sunt familia plantarum florentium, quae duo ad quattuor genera in fere centum viginti arborum fruticumque speciebus comprehendit. Folia proprie sunt opposita, et fructus schizocarpus.[1]


Quod Aceraceae sunt Sapindaceis arte cognatae diu agnoscitur. Nonnulli taxinomistae (cum Grege Phylogeniae Angiospermarum) eas cum Hippocastanaceis inter Sapindaceas nunc digerunt. Recentiores autem investigationes (Harrington et al. 2005[2]) monstrant, quamquam Aceraceae et Hippocastanaceae coniunctim sint monophyleticae, eorum amotio ex Sapindaceis sensu lato habere Sapindaceas sensu stricto ut gregem paraphyleticum, quod praesertim ad genus Xanthoceras attinet.
